A Note for Parents

Why Strength Training Is Safe

Research consistently shows that properly supervised youth strength training is safe, effective, and beneficial. The risk of injury in a well-coached strength program is significantly lower than in most youth sports.

Our coaches are trained to work with young athletes. Programs are designed with appropriate loading, movement quality, and recovery built in.

We invite you to sit in on your child's first session and ask as many questions as you need.

Parent & Athlete FAQ

Questions About Athlete Performance

What age is appropriate for the athlete performance program?

We work with athletes ages 13 and up. For younger athletes (13–15), we focus on foundational movement mechanics, relative strength, and coordination. For older teens and adults, we introduce heavier loading and more sport-specific demands.

What sports do athletes in this program play?

We train athletes across all sports — football, basketball, baseball, soccer, swimming, track, volleyball, lacrosse, and more. The physical qualities we develop (power, speed, strength, resilience) transfer across all sports.

Will strength training make my child too bulky or slow them down?

This is a common concern and a myth. Properly designed strength training improves speed, power, and athleticism. It does not create unwanted bulk, especially in younger athletes whose hormonal profile doesn't support significant muscle mass gains.

How does this differ from what athletes do in school weight rooms?

School weight rooms typically lack individualized programming and experienced coaching. Our program is built around each athlete's sport, position, season phase, and physical assessment results. It's individualized, periodized, and coach-supervised.

Can this program reduce my child's injury risk?

Yes. One of our primary focuses is building the structural resilience — tendon, ligament, and muscle strength — that reduces injury risk. We also assess movement quality and address imbalances that often lead to overuse injuries.
